Portraits of Presence

Women are at the heart of my practice. A woman is never just a woman — she is an attitude, an inner strength, a way of inhabiting the world and a history.

What interests me are the small, unguarded moments: a glance, a tilt of the head, the half-second of stillness before a gesture. I am drawn to those who carry themselves with a quiet poise — women whose elegance speaks before they do, and who seem entirely at home in themselves. Accessories appear less as ornament than as gentle punctuation — quiet signs through which a figure reveals what she would not say aloud.

Each project starts in digital form in black and white; only when the composition feels right do I allow colour to enter — often inspired by old masters I love — building an atmosphere through thin and patient layers of both acrylic and oil paint.

Born in France, I made Switzerland my home many years ago, first in Geneva and now in Zurich. After a career in finance, alongside a constant passion and painting practice, I finally gave myself fully to painting. What I hope to offer is a slower way of looking — an invitation to spend a moment with women who are simply, fully themselves.
